Summer Shutterbug Series📸 at the Aledo Public Library📚 is designed to inspire, educate, and empower photographers of all levels. Over six engaging weeks, Jun 11 - July 16, participants will explore the art and craft of photography from the ground up — all while gaining hands-on experience with industry professional, seasoned travel photographer, and creator of the Fort Worth Foto Fest, MacKenzie Hughes of Aledo Aperture. This series is designed for high schoolers and adults. Registration is required as space is limited. Sign up by visiting or calling the Aledo Public Library (817-441-6545), or emailing libraryprograms@aledotx.gov starting May 7th. Sign-ups are for the full 6-week commitment. Each week combines instruction with live demonstrations and guided photowalks, getting you out from behind the classroom and into the real world with camera in hand. Each session builds on the last, giving you practical, real-world tools you can use immediately — from mastering your camera's settings to capturing stunning portraits and landscapes. You'll learn by doing, and you'll see the results for yourself. Week 1 — Traveling With Your Camera Tips, gear essentials, and how to capture the world around you with confidence. Week 2 — Camera Settings Demystified Understanding your camera's controls and learning how to use them to their fullest potential — on ALL cameras…even phones! Week 3 — Composition The art of seeing and framing a great shot, and what separates a good photo from a memorable one. Week 4 — Environmental Portraits Techniques for capturing people naturally and beautifully within the world around them. Week 5 — Dramatic Landscapes How to find, frame, and photograph landscapes that are as breathtaking in print as they are in person. Search for the best lighting conditions and how to harness harsh/bright lighting to your advantage. Week 6 — What To Do With Your Images Editing, printing, sharing, and preserving your work — because great photos deserve a great life after the shutter clicks. Join us this summer and discover what your camera — and your eye — are truly capable of. Bring your camera and your curiosity!
