TexShare

Access free print and electronic resources throughout Texas.

TexShare is a statewide resource sharing program designed to improve library service to Texans. The TexShare Consortium includes accredited public libraries, colleges and universities, and libraries of clinical medicine. TexShare is administered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC).

East Parker County Library currently participates in the TexShare Database program and the TexShare Card program.

These electronic resources are authoritative, ad-free, and available 24/7 online. Access over 27,000 journals; 171,000 e-books; and 15 million images, videos, and interactive resources, including Miss Humblebee's Academy for preschoolers, Learning Express Library for students of all ages, Udemy for lifelong learners, Job and Career Accelerator for job seekers, and recursos en español for Spanish-speakers. Contact us for the password.

EPCL Patrons

Getting a TexShare Card to Use at Other Libraries

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid, current East Parker County Library card in good standing (no outstanding fines or fees).
  • You agree to follow all policies set by the other libraries where you use your TexShare Card.
  • You agree to pay any fines or fees incurred with other libraries using your TexShare Card –such charges are not the responsibility of East Parker County Library.
  • Your TexShare Card will be valid for one year from date of issue.

 

TexShare Card Patrons

Activating Your TexShare Card to Use at EPCL

  • You must not already hold, or be eligible for, a library card at one of the Parker County Library Association locations.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and present the following documents in person at East Parker County Library:
    • valid TexShare Card
    • valid Texas driver license or photo ID
    • proof of current address
  • You agree to follow all EPCL policies and assume responsibility for any lost or damaged materials, fines, or fees. Please see loan policy for further details.
  • Your borrowing privileges will end when your TexShare Card expires.

 

Loan Policies for TexShare Card Patrons

  • TexShare Card patrons are allowed to have a maximum of 5 print books checked out on their EPCL account at one time.
    • The borrowing period is 2 weeks, with up to 2 renewals per book unless that title is requested by another patron.
    • Books may not be checked out if there are any overdue materials, fines, or fees on the account.
    • Late fees for books are $0.25/item per day. For lost or damaged items, a $5.00 processing fee will be charged in addition to any replacement costs.
  • TexShare Card patrons are not able to check out new books (added in last two months), audiovisual materials (audiobooks, DVDs), digital collections (OverDrive/Libby app), or reference books.
